Membership fees of the Apollo Bay Kendo Club is paid annually and due by June 30th every year. Membership fees are currently $75/year for adults and $50/year for under 16s[1]. It is not necessary to pay membership fees when you commence training but it is required within the first two months as membership fees cover insurance and other fees payable to the VKR.
The kendo community is very supportive locally and globally and, as part of the international kendo community, members of ABKC are welcome to train at kendo clubs worldwide.
Like most sports, kendo requires a certain amount of equipment. For a quick guide to kendo equipment, how much it will cost in Australian Dollars, and when you will be expected to purchase it, please read our kendo equipment list here.
[1] Must be under 16 years of age as of 1st of July in the membership year (1st July-30th June).
